For those that requested some help with creating earrings here is my #diy hoop earring! 1️⃣ Anneal your wire (.8-1mm depending on your preference, I used .8mm because I like a smaller ear wire but it is tougher to form because it’s delicate! 2️⃣ Coil your wire on a ring mandrel, or a stepped mandrel if you have it! Make more coil then you think you will need (I made three earrings because one was a reject 🤦🏼♀️) 3️⃣ Use round nose pliers to form a loop 4️⃣ Take parallel pliers to rotate the loop 90 degrees 5️⃣ Solder (if you want, I used medium solder) 6️⃣ Place the earrings on your mandrel to trim the other end and compare the hoops, make sure you have a matching pair 7️⃣ I used an AdvantEdge silicon polishers to make my earring nice and rounded so it’s comfortable to wear (how do you do it? Comment below!) 8️⃣ With flat pliers I put a slight bend it the hoop end and adjusted the loop so they would catch on each other 9️⃣ I did a good amount of adjusting and hammering them on the my mandrel with a rawhide 🔟 I lived happily ever after! These are super simple but hopefully they are a good start point for some that want to fabricate their own. Please leave your general earring making tips in the comments! 💕😘 #jewelrymakingtutorial #jewelrymaking #hoopearrings #diyhoopearrings #metalsmithsociety
