Here is a tip for all you folks with a rotary tumbler from @alwaysaleda - I have a necklace with a delicate chain that will need a bit of a polish after the chain goes on. So I put it in my small tumble with those soapy brillo pads from the grocery store. Gives a great light polish, and doesn’t catch or hurt chains, prongs, etc. I’ve never had a problem with residual steel wool on my piece or inside the tumbler. If you leave it running too long that will happen, but for this kind of piece I usually only run it for about a half hour. Long enough to clean and polish, but not so long the pads completely fall apart. “ Thank you so much for sharing this!!! Would have never thought to do this! Thank you to everyone who has been emailing me tips (with photos 🙏🏻) I promise I will response! corkie@metalsmithsociety.com #metalsmithing #ladysmith #jewelrytipoftheday
