For this weekβs #tooltalktuesday Iβd love to discuss sanders! Thank you @dogvioletjewelry for sharing yours ππ» βThis is the Ikohe Belt Sander, found on Amazon, price $185. This sander will definitely be a game changer for me. As all of us Smiths know, sanding tiny pieces of silver is really tough on the hands and fingers. My main use of this is to clean up just sawed pieces, and to use it to sand the bottom of pieces so they are completely flat before soldering. It is seriously going to save me tons of time, because it takes so long to sand tiny little pieces by hand. This sander requires a flex shaft to run it. I have a Foredom Flex Shaft and it works beautifully with it. It also comes with 5 different sanding belts, each of a different grit, and a plastic tube attachment that a shop vac can fit into, to remove the dust particles from going everywhere. I hope this tool helps other metalsmiths as much as it's helped me!β π¬ This looks glorious and a sander is definitely on my wishlist πββοΈ Do you have one? Whatβs your favorite use for it? *Please always wear eye protection when using a sander or your flexshaft π ππ» #Metalsmithsociety #ladysmith #jewelrytools #jewelrytoolporn
