@kajsjewelry - “I love giving old pieces a new purpose, and have found that many of the antiques passed down from my grandparents and retired jewelers have found a new home in my studio. Old metal film canisters collect silver/gold scraps, wooden boxes holding tools, glass bottles for bits. To give everything a unified look (and not look like too much of a hodgepodge of junk) I often collect pieces that have beautiful old wood, metal, or give them a coat of paint (in my case much of it ends up black- like the old food cans, and ugly/worn looking shop organizing containers). By drilling holes in beautiful solid wood blocks I can organize my most frequently used bits to have them accessible and easy to find when I need them. Great places to look look for creative storage ideas are local flea markets, and thrift stores. Photos by
