Love this soldering tip shared by @willowandtwigg
- "This is the method I use to solder posts to earrings! ⚒️
For a long time I used to use serrated tweezers clamped in a ‘third hand’ holder, but found it really fiddly to get them into position and to apply the right amount of pressure.
These smaller tweezers are stainless steel (so won’t rust) and the smooth jaws make it really easy to gently tilt the post and align it to the angle I need.
They’re not necessarily secure enough to hold larger soldering tasks like ring shanks, but earring posts are really light and delicate so they don’t need to be strongly held and I find this is just enough to keep them in place.
The bulldog clip on the end uses gravity and balance to hold the posts down whilst soldering; I just take care to make sure that the post is straight before gently and carefully lifting it onto the join.
Simple but effective, and much less faffing about than other ways I’ve tried! 🙃"
YES we have shared the binder clip any times over the years and it is an all time favorite tip of mine. If you are doing production you can get 5+ tweezers and binder clips and set up a bunch of stuff to solder at once! Thank you so much Kelly for letting me share your video!!
