Here is a tip for getting a flush seam prior to soldering, it works on rings and thicker bezel settings as well from @jen_surine -“ That’s right, especially on wide bands, I don’t mess around with trying to file the ends perfectly so they come together without any gaps. If there is a slight gap, I just saw straight through and I’m left with ends that line up perfectly.
Just remember to remove your saw blade by taking it off your saw, rather than opening up the ring band. Yeah, the join is THAT right now I have to remove my saw blade from my frame to get it out!
Not only does this little trick work better than filing, you end up removing less material and don’t screw up the ring size that way.”
Thanks Jen for letting me share your video and technique! I use this one often! #jewelrymakingcommunity #sawingtip #solderingtips

#metalsmithingjewelry #makingjewelry #snagmember #jewelrytips #metalsmithsociety
