Here is a tip for your sandpaper mandrel from @tennessee_rose_jewelry -“Like many silversmiths, I have used the trick of wrapping sandpaper around a split mandrel. Also like most of us, I’ve struggled to figure out a way to keep it there and allow me to peel off sections as they become used. I’ve tried the taping, and the gluing, and just leaving it alone. None have been satisfactory.

Then my husband came up with the idea of rolling the sandpaper on as normal and securing the base with a small O-ring. I can slide the O-ring down to peel off the paper and slide it right back up. In addition, I mark the mandrels with fingernail polish to indicate what grit of sandpaper. I likewise mark my needle files, using the same color coding.” It’s a two-for-one tip 😁🙌 the best!
