Here is a tip for texturing metal from @makeitkimtoday - “Cupcake wrappers are cheap and come in lots of intricate designs. Any laser cut paper will do or you can cut your own designs out of smooth watercolor paper with a scalpel. Put the paper design onto a steel block and lay your metal over the top of the patterned area you'd like to use. It's normally best for your metal not to move around so you can hold it in place with masking tape. Then hammer your metal onto the paper. Make sure you hammer every area you want to texture. If you use a hammer with a smooth polished surface it won't mark the back of your metal too much. If you use a gnarly hammer it will leave a texture on the back which can look quite nice. I've used this technique with metal between 0.5mm-2mm thick. You can use sheet metal or wire. Make sure your hammer strokes hit straight down if you want to minimize the metal changing shape.” This is such an awesome technique! For those that don’t have a rolling mill but want to transfer a texture onto their metal. Thank you SO much Kim.
