Here is a #diy tool for those hard to reach rivets from @8thfloor_studio - “I needed to make hinges in a difficult angle, so I made my own hammer. First I made a hole in a wooden hammer with a regular home drill, and inserted a dapping tool that fits the hinges I will be riveting. I added tape around the dapping tool to secure it in the hole. Because the earrings I am riveting are round shaped I used an additional dapping tool in my vise to provide the support I need to rivet. You can use any size dapping tool that suits your needs and the wooden hammer you have. And because it's not glued you can switch the anvils and secure them using tape. Riveting does not require strong blows of the hammer and therefor I have not had an issue with the dapping tool sitting inside the hammer with tape securing it. You can also still use the other side of the wooden hammer as is.” Thank you for taking the time to share with us! #riveting #jewelryrivets #makingjewelry #dappingtools
