Kindness ⚡️Community ⚡️Education
This community is constantly welcoming new people that are interested in jewelry making and it has grown to over 185,000 community members. Occasionally I like to talk about our three pillars: Kindness, Community + Education. If it isn’t educational, doesn’t serve our community and isn’t kind I don’t share it. I always want Metalsmith Society to be a place where ANYONE feels safe to ask a question or share their opinion. I’ve had people tell me they disagree with a tip shared, or that something was unsafe and they have done it with respect and kindness 🙏☺️
I don’t always see every comment but if you ever feel you see someone violating our community guidelines just DM me and I’ll remove the comment. My experience has been that our community members are generous, supportive, intelligent people that help each other out and I have blocked less than ten accounts to date. Please help me spread this post by liking and leaving a comment … you can even tag a jeweler friend who has been a support system for you. I know it’s not my typical tip post but this is so important. I’ve been doing tips daily since February 2018 and if it wasn’t for all of you being so wonderful I simply would have given up because who wants to see bullying and nonsense?!? I’ll end by sharing three simple questions I’ve discussed with my six year old daughter she can ask herself before sharing her thoughts with friends, family or even strangers at the market.
Is it true?
Is it necessary?
Is it kind?
I am extremely grateful for all of you, thank you for being here!
