to a neophyte i suggest to draw a cross, pierce the centre of the cross and then make the triangular prongs

after which you can draw another cross that divides the star created by the prongs into four parts and make the other four points with a clean cut that points towards the centre of the hole

Finally, place the stone and lock it in place directly by dividing the prongs with the beading tool.

And the setting is ready.
