@lucywalkerjewellery first using calipers to mark the area you will file, I love how she rotates the vise as she is filing that 45 degree angle and then there is a bonus tip of putting a little tape over the stone to keep it in place as you prepare to set! If you are someone who wants to learn stone setting I can’t recommend her Metalsmith Academy enough. The value is truly insane. I recommend going for a full year and then schedule time into your calendar weekly to take classes. You will gain new skills for sure.
