Here is a technique for sizing a ring from
@milestonejewelryllc - “I would like to share an easy way to size a ring larger without having to measure anything! 1️⃣ Here is the ring that needs to be sized larger. 14k yellow gold, diamonds, sapphire 2️⃣ Cut the ring shank with your jewelers saw and gently pull the ring down the mandrel, slightly past the desired size (to eliminate tension) Desired size is 7 3️⃣ Run the piece of sizing stock up and down against one end of the shank, and let the other end of the shank (underneath the sizing stock) scratch the sizing stock 4️⃣ When you flip the sizing stock over this is the scratch you are left with 5️⃣ Use your jewelers saw to cut on the scratch mark 6️⃣ Put the piece of sizing stock into the ring, and you are now ready for soldering! 7️⃣ Coat the ring with a mixture of denatured alcohol and boric acid, and submerge the gemstone in water (sapphire will be OK without being submerged, but this is for extra safety!) after flux, use Hard solder on either side of the sizing stock 8️⃣ Hammer a little bit, and the ring will be the desired size!” Thank you soooooo much Melissa!
