“I like this one; so simple but so useful! ⚒️🙌
I don’t think I’ve ever used the pull-out arm rests on my bench for their intended purpose. Occasionally I’ll hook my saw on them temporarily, but other than that they have been pretty much redundant.
Until now! I’d already purchased some of this self-adhesive measuring tape for the counter next to my computer desk, as I find it handy to quickly check the length of chains now and again. Then last week I decided to get another and add it to one of the arm-rests.
It’s super-thin, so doesn’t get stuck or affect the pull-out motion at all (although I do try to push the wood downwards to avoid it getting scratched) and it’s accurate too.
It won’t replace my steel rulers or digital callipers for precision work, but for a quick and speedy measuring method it’s perfect.
And as a bonus it cost me less than £5!“
I love seeing little things like this that folks have done around their studio. It may seem really simple but such an “ah ha!” moment for those of us that didn’t think of it 😊 thank you for sharing!!!!
