Create your own tool for opening a bezel with this tip from @areteadorned
“Anytime I’ve found in the final stages of setting a stone that I needed to remove the stone for a repair, I’ve struggled with removing the stone without damaging the bezel. I’ve tried watch repair tools and X-Acto knives with disastrous results. Then I figured out how to modify a cheap blackhead removal tool to make it thin enough to slide in between a stone and a bezel to pry away the bezel. I use a heatless mizzy wheel in my flex shaft to grind down the tool so it’s paper thin, and now it glides right in without mangling the bezel. Game changer!”
This is a great idea!! I LOVE modified tools! Thank you Laura for emailing me this tip over at tips@metalsmithsociety.com, our community appreciates you!!!
