Remember those ceramic stones from
@gesswein.jewelry that I shared that went a little viral? Welllll I learned there is an actual tool made to use with them š This is the Diprofil Dipromini Mini-Filer. Iām using mine with my Foredom SR, and it creates a tiny back-and-forth motion. Important: you do have to run it SLOW, 5000-7000rpm. You can use it with different ceramic stones and diamond tips, and in this video Iām trying the knife-shaped D64 diamond tip, which is roughly 230ā270 grit. I also experimented with adding adhesive-backed micro-finishing film to that tip so I could smooth things out a bit more. What I really like is how easily it gets right up to an edge and into tiny areas. Areas where a needle file or polishing wheel not fit, or would remove more material than necessary. It lets you refine in a very controlled way. I have a lot more playing around to do with this thing. It is definitely an investment, so let me do the experimenting š If it ends up being a tool you need, great. If not, at least now you know it exists and what it can do. More experiments coming, while I have this tool on loan from Gesswein! What are you curious about? Drop a comment and it will help me decide what to do next!
