Love this tip from @laurelandlime to keep your wire and solder stock organized and identifiable! - “I have very limited space and admittedly produce a lot of “creative chaos” while I’m working. I always flag all of my wires right out of the box with brightly colored washi tapes to help me find the wire I need quickly. It’s super helpful for visual people, as finding an orange “8” is much easier than locating your 8 gauge wire in a pile of sterling wires.
I always tag my solders with hot pink to keep them visually different, but with every order I rotate the color that I use for the sterling wires. This week is orange, so next week will be blue or green, which helps to quickly distinguish the new stock from the old, and also shows you what you’re running low on!” 🙌🙌🙌 I’m going to be honest here, I have far more mystery metal than I care to admit 😂 you can of course always measure or figure it out but THIS ☝️ saves so much time. Thanks for sharing 🙏😘 #metalsmithsociety #jewelrymakingtipoftheday #jewelrystudioorganization
