@mirieldesign - “Drill holes in a scrap metal plate (any metal works), and use that to hold prongs when soldering the setting together. Set a caliper to draw a circle first, mark off the distance between the prongs, drill the holes the same size as the prongs, so they stay put when you stick them in the little holes. Taper the ends, bend them towards the middle, and solder together.” 🤯 She also drew a wonderful picture to help visually explain how to file and taper the prongs before you solder and the final photo shows a gorgeous ring (in which she used this method to create her setting 😏) thank you so much for sharing this great tip! 🙏🏻💕 #Metalsmithsociety
