Here is a tip for cleaning your pieces if your stones can’t go in an ultrasonic or if you don’t have an ultrasonic 🙋♀️ from @callirrhoejewellery - she uses this electronic toothbrush! You can use some mild soap and apply gentle pressure. Love this so much because I know many of us don’t have ultrasonics! Some information on what can go in the ultrasonic I found on the @giagrams website - a stone shouldn’t go in an ultrasonic if it’s susceptible to heat and temperature changes, examples: tanzanite, moonstone, iolite, kunzite, lapis lazuli, malachite, opal, opal, topaz, turquoise, zircon. You could also run into problems if the gem itself has been treated to enhance color, or been impregnated with oil, plastic or wax! If you aren’t sure air on the side of caution and avoid placing your piece in the ultrasonic. #metalsmithsociety #jewelrytipoftheday #jewelrycommunity #cleaningjewelry <br>@unumdesign #unumfam
