Have you been following my enameling journey? In this second video I wanted to discuss the importance of base enamel and counter enamel. Counter enamel refers to enameling the back of your enameled piece. This important step prevents warping and cracking! Base enamel is a nice even coat on the front of your piece. After which you can layer on designs or whatever you like. This educational journey is sponsored by @pmcsupplies they sent me their Programmable Tabletop Kiln. This amazing unit is under $800 dollars and heats to 2200°F. My studio doesn’t have a lot of extra space so I absolutely love this kiln just sits on top of my bench where I solder. Bonus my exhaust system is already over there. With it I plan to do enameling and precious metal clay tutorials. I will be learning on this journey right along with many of you. So open to your advice, helpful tips etc! To check out this kiln (and hundreds of other tools) visit pmcsupplies.com and give them a follow too, we appreciate their support of the page! They are offering our community 10% off your purchase of this programmable kiln or the non programmable version with code: society10 😁🙏 Thanks for that!! #sponsored #tabletopkiln #enamelingkiln #jewelrytutorial #metalsmithsocietyenamels
