Don’t. Don’t do that. 😳
Quick reminder for new jewelers: most spring clasps have steel in them, which is why they’re attracted to my magnet, even the solid gold ones! 🧲
This is important to keep in mind if you’re soldering a clasp onto a necklace or bracelet. Avoid heating the clasp, because heat can weaken the steel spring inside. And make sure you keep that clasp out of the pickle, since the steel can cause contamination.
